A SPECIAL REQUIEM IN ALEPPO FOR THE VICTIMS OF THE MASSACRES IN ADANA
(CILICIA 1909)
On Sunday 20 April, His Holiness Aram I presided over a Requiem Service in
memory of the 30,000 victims of the massacres in Adana in 1909. After the
Divine Liturgy and the memorial service, the faithful listened to the
Pontifical letter His Holiness Aram I had sent to all the Prelates,
informing them of the 90th anniversary of the massacres in Adana, and asking
them to organize special events to remember the victims of this second
largest massacre by the Ottoman Turks.
