Nora Armani and David Bakamjian in Yerevan

Yerevan - Actor Nora Armani and cellist David Bakamjian brought
their Evocations of Armenia to audiences in Armenia for the Armmono
International Festival of Mono Performances in Yerevan organized by the
Theater Union and its president Hakob Ghazanchyan, artistic director
of the State Theater of the Young Spectator (Patani Handisatesi Tadron)
and under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture of Armenia.

Armani's and Bakamjian's performance, which was recently presented
at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York on November 23, 2008
for the arrival of a 12th century stone-cross (khachkar) on permanent
loan from the Republic of Armenia to the Met.

Using the words of poets and writers of Armenia, together with the
melodies of Armenian composers, Armani and Bakamjian invite you
to travel with them on a journey through the Armenian heart and
soul. Their performance is at once evocative and inspiring.

Evocations of Armenia is written and performed by Nora Armani and
directed by Francois Kergourlay. The award-winning actress has toured
extensively with her play in both its English and French versions in
over 20 cities worldwide including Paris, London, Cairo, New York, Los
Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Detroit, Boston, Houston, Montreal,
Lyon, Geneva, Mamers, Caen (Normandy), and Issy les Moulineaux,
    to name a few.

While in Armenia, Armani also performed her one-woman show "On the
Couch with Nora Armani" in the southern city of Kapan on the occasion
of the opening of a new theater in that region.
