ARMENIAN ASSEMBLY OF AMERICA WELCOMES THE ROAD-MAP BETWEEN ARMENIA AND TURKEY

ArmInfo. The Armenian Assembly of America (AAA) welcomes the road-map
between Armenia and Turkey. This road-map may become the first step
towards real agreement on normalization of relations between the two
countries, AAA Regional Director for Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh
Arpi Vardanian said at today's press-conference.
"There are no more specific details, and I wouldn't like to give any
comments on this. Nevertheless, the Assembly welcomes the continuous
process on normalization of relations between Armenia and Turkey",-
Vardanian said.
According to her, the closed border between the states is
nonsense in the 21st century. Vardanian has an optimistic view of
possible opening of the border and sees in it more advantages than
disadvantages. However, while opening the border one should naturally
take into account both positive and negative factors, she concluded.
