President of the House of Representatives of Cyprus Marios Garoyian has
called on Ankara to recognize the Armenian Genocide it carried out,
claiming that only by admitting this crime there will be complete
and fair restoration of the historic truth, Famagusta Gazette reports.
In a speech at a gathering in Nicosia, Garoyian said Armenians honor
another anniversary of the 1915 genocide and continue the struggle for
international recognition of one of the most heinous crimes against
humanity in the last century and seek justification.
We condemn yet again the atrocious crime and declare again our demand
for international condemnation and recognition of the Armenian Genocide
and urge Turkey to recognize, admit its crime and apologize to the
Armenian people and the whole of humanity.
Garoyian said Armenians and Cypriots are on a common course for many
years. They are both victims of Turkish brutality but continue to
fight, demanding their rights and restoration of history.
