PC SALES DECREASE BY 50% IN YEREVAN

Aram Chopuryan, Executive Director of Ras Computer Technologies, PC
major supplier in Armenia, said the sales decreased by 50% against last
year's index. "The population is out of cash, and loan applications
are rejected by banks," he said.
According to a survey conducted by a PanARMENIAN.Net correspondent,
the similar situation is with other PC major suppliers like Bi Line
that lost 30% turn over. Turnover of Dolphin and Lans shops decreased
by 60% and 80% respectively.
Zaruhi Lazarian, Commercial Director of Unicomp CJSC, official
partner of Intel and Cisco Systems in Armenia, said IT hardware
producers prefer to cut the production volume but not the prices.
