REPUBLICAN PARTY OF ARMENIA HAS ALWAYS STOOD FOR ESTABLISHMENT OF RELATIONS WITH TURKEY WITHOUT PRECONDITIONS

The Republican Party of Armenia has always backed the establishment
of diplomatic relations with Turkey with Turkey without preconditions,
and this means that the Nagorno Karabakh issue and the recognition of
the Armenian Genocide cannot be subjects of discussions in the talks,"
Spokesman for the Republican Party Edward Sharmazanov told a press
conference today.
It has been a year that the contacts between Armenia and Turkey
have intensified. The dialogue started after Armenian President
Serzh Sargsyan invited his Turkish counterpart Abdullah Gul to watch
the Armenia-Turkey qualifier in Yerevan. "The President's step was
very daring.
It's not easy to destroy the wall built by another one. History will
show that this was a very important step. The President of Armenia
has stated on many occasions and from, different podiums that the
pivotal issue in the Karabakh solution is the right of Karabakhi
people for self-determination," Sharmazanov said.
According to RPA Spokesman, Armenia's National Security Strategy also
confirms that Armenia stands for negotiations and establishment of
diplomatic relations without preconditions.
