    ARMENIA STILL AMONG CIS COUNTRIES WITH LOWEST INFLATION - 2.7%

    YEREVAN, August 4. /ARKA/. Armenia is still among the CIS countries
    with the lowest inflation level in the first half of 2009 as compared
    to the same period of last year.

    A 2.7% annual average inflation was recorded in Armenia in the period.

    The CIS Statistical Committee reports that consumer prices grew by an
    average of 13% in the CIS over the period. Consumer prices went 0.3%
    down in Armenia in June against May.

    According to the statistics, inflation was recorded in all CIS
    countries in the period under review. Armenia is the third in terms
    of annual average inflation level. The first is Moldova with a 1.1%
    rise in consumer prices, followed by Georgia (2.4% rise).

    Inflation was 3.7% in Azerbaijan, 8.5% in Kazakhstan, 8.8% in
    Tajikistan, 12.5% in Kyrgyzstan and 13.1% in Russia.

    Maximum rise in consumer prices was recorded in Ukraine (17.6%)
    and in Belarus (14.6%).

    No information is provided on Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
