The Armenian Church at Hye Pointe, Ward Hill, will hold an Armenian
music and food festival Aug. 23 from noon to 5 p.m., at the American
Legion Farm, 1314 Main St.
This event will be held rain or shine. Music is by the Jason Naroian
Ensemble, featuring Jason Naroian on dumbeg and vocals, Leon Janikian
on clarinet, John Arzigian on accordion and vocals, Joe Kouyoumjian
on the oud, Michael Naroian on dumbeg and Paul Mooradian on tambourine.
The Armenian picnic-style dinners will feature chicken kebab,
lamb kebab, losh kebab and kheyma. There will also be hot dogs and
Armenian and American pastries and beverages. There will be an 11
a.m. church service at the picnic grounds. Raffles for cash prizes
and gift certificates will be held. Visitors are asked to bring their
lawn chairs and tavloo boards. Adult admission donation is $1 per
person. Admission for children is free. Ball fields and hiking trails
will be available for use. The function hall is air-conditioned. More
