NEW EQUIPMENT PUT INTO OPERATION AT ARMENAL

YEREVAN, AUGUST 5, NOYAN TAPAN. A new ABP-1600 rolling unit was put
into operation at Armenal aluminum foil mill - part of the United
Company Rusal, the second largest aluminium company in the world. 3
such units producing aluminum tape and foil 6-8 mm thick already
operate at the mill.
NT correspondent was informed at Armenal that the necessity of
launching a ABP-1600 arose due to the considerable growth of production
volumes at the mill. The unit's peculiarity is that it enables to
produce metal of most plastic structure: disposable aluminum sets
used in planes are made from such foil.
It was mentioned that the use of ABP-1600 will allow the mill
to improve its indices and enter new markets of most expensive
products. Besides, the stable operation of the unit will help carry
out in time the maintenance and scheduled repair of other equipment.
