/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Russian Center for Science and Culture in Yerevan
hosted screening of "08.08.08 War. The art of treachery" movie,
based on South Ossetian war documentary filming. The documentary
first appeared at Russia.ru internet-TV channel on October 28, 2008,
RA Russian Embassy Press Service reported.
A 50-minute documentary features video recordings, experts'
commentaries, accounts of eyewitnesses and relatives of south Ossetian
war victims.
The documentary reveals deliberate actions of Georgian military,
who planned the operation by the order of President Saakashvili,
aiming to exterminate Ossetia people and capture the territory, as
well as duplicity of official Tbilisi before and during the conflict.
Facts are cited, testifying to indifference and twofaced assessments
of international community, and indirect participation of a number of
countries providing significant military assistance to Georgia. Thus,
the documentary serves a proof to Georgian authorities' crime, which
has to be assessed by international legal structures.
Discussion was held upon documentary completion. Viewers emphasized
positive role of Russia, which stopped the bloodshed and prevented
humanitarian catastrophe expansion.
Despite this, Russia was subjected to unprecedented informational
attack aiming to acquit the aggressor.
Shaken by terrifying pictures of war, the viewers expressed their
condolence to people of South Ossetia and families of victims.
On August 8, morning service for August war victims will be held at
the Church of the Intercession of the Mother of God in Yerevan.
