HSBC NAMED GLOBAL BANK OF THE YEAR BY EUROMONEY

YEREVAN, August 7, /ARKA/. HSBC Bank was recently awarded "Best Global
Bank" in the Euro money Awards for Excellence 2009.
HSBC was also named Best Global Debt House and Best Global Transaction
Banking House. A press release by HSBC-Armenia forwarded to ARKA
says that 'In a year that has seen financial turmoil worldwide HSBC
has remained steadfast. In Euromoney's Awards for Excellence 2009,
HSBC has won Euromoney's premier award as Best Global Bank.
Euromoneysaid: "The crisis showed up which banks the markets thought
were safest - and HSBC came out firmly on top." Euromoney added that
'HSBC has adopted a clear policy of focusing expansion on emerging
markets, and on the international connectivity of those markets with
the developed world. It is a truly global bank."
Euromoney awards companies who have excelled in providing high-quality
products and services across all areas commercial and investment
banking.
Over the years these awards have set the standards for banking
and capital market excellence amongst the top ranking financial
institutions around the world. The awards are based on outstanding
