USA agree to limited `project' presence of Russia in South Caucasus
Baku, Fineko/abc.az. The United States of America consider fulfilled
task to drive out Russia from South Caucasus, and passed to
delimitation of area of its presence.
We do not strive to drive anybody from here, Matthew Bryza, deputy
State Secretary of USA said.
«Russia will always be a part of Caucasus, the Caucasian mountains
will always remain on the same place, and Russia will always be
partial in South Caucasus. It will always be a participant of any
decisions, both concerning power questions and political ones,'
Ð`.Bryza noted.
These statements are identical with the Russian version, that in
August, 2008 the USA acknowledged the actual protectorate of Russia
over Abkhazia and South Ossetia, and Russia ` a protectorate of the
USA over Georgia. In this context activation in 2009 of Russia and USA
in the settlement of Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict
look like continuation of process of delimitation of
«protectorates» in South Caucasus.
