    ANTALIAS-His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia
    Monday met with Lebanese President Michel Suleiman.

    The Catholicosate press service announced that the Catholicos was
    accompanied by the Prelate of Lebanon Bishop Gegham Khacherian and
    the Prelate of Tehran Archbishop Sebouh Sarksian, as well as chairman
    of the Catholicosate Executive Council Bedros Garachrtchian.

    Catholicos Aram I presented the programs and projects of the
    Catholicosate to the president, highlighting the Catholicosate's
    leadership in furthering ecumenical and inter-faith ties.

    He stated that in the last months he had meetings with the Presidents
    of Syria, Iran, Italy and Cyprus, with other high ranking officials,
    as well as with Pope Benedict XVI and spiritual leaders of different
    religions, took part in international foru

    His Holiness said that Lebanon takes an important place in his meetings
    and discussions. The Catholicos stressed that the Armenian community
    has always been and will remain supportive of Lebanon, its president
    and Lebanese statehood.

    The President briefed the Catholicos on Lebanon's current situation,
    issues on the formation of the government and the significant
    achievements of the country on the international front.

    he President highly praised and expressed his satisfaction, that Aram I
    always gives a special place to Lebanon in his international relations,
    he simultaneously attached great importance to the positive and active
    participation of the Lebanon's Armenian community in the country's
    political life and in general, in its prosperity and progress.
