YEREVAN (Combined Sources)-The Golden Apricot International Film
Festival will leave for Javakhk and will feature six of the films
that competed in the festival that concluded last month.

The effort is part of the "Golden Apricot on Wheels," which for
the second year has taken the festival films to Akhalkalak to allow
Armenian residents of Javakhk to experience the acclaimed festival.

One of the films going to Akhalkalak is "The Other Bank," by Georgian
director Georgi Ovashvili and was the winner of the main prize at
the festival. Harutiune Khachatryan's documentary "Boundary" will
also be part of the films being screened in Javakhk.

"Such cultural programs are mainly aimed to bridge the gap between
Armenia and Georgia," Ashot Melkonyan, director of the Institute of
Armenian History, told a press conference Tuesday in Yerevan. "We must
remember that Javakhk shouldn't become a bone of contention between our
countries, on the contrary, it should bring the two together," he said

"Golden Apricot on wheels" will opened at the Akhalkalak Cultural
Center with screening of Sergei Paradjanov's masterpiece, "The Color
of Pomegranates," which celebrated its 40th anniversary this year.

According to Khachatryan, the festival director, "Golden Apricot on
Wheels" will travel to other Armenian-populated regions of Georgia
    next year.

"Golden Apricot on Wheels" is a partnership with the Tbilisi
International Film Festival and the National Cinema Center of Georgia.
