6 DIED IN SAYANO-SHUSHEN HPP

Today, August 17 at 04:42 a.m. six died and eight got injured in the
accident that took place in Sayano-Shushen Hydro Power Plant (HPP)
in Khakassia (Russia), Vesti TV informs. Russian Ministry of Emergency
Situations (MES) declared electricity supplies will not be cut off.
Hydraulic shock in the HPP is assumed cause of the accident.
"Nothing has been reported on possible explosions. The main version
of the accident is hydraulic shock," said Dmitry Kudryavtsev, Syberia
regional department of MES.
