Earl W. Comstock and Anne E. McInerney bought a five-bedroom, 4.5-bath
home at 7101 Western Ave. N.W. in Hawthorne from Lael Brainard and
Kurt M. Campbell for $1.095 million.
The 2,490-square-foot house was built in 1942.
Comstock is chief executive officer at Comstock Consulting.
Previously, he was president and CEO at COMPTEL. He also was a partner
at Sher & Blackwell LLP.
He graduated from George Mason University School of Law.
McInerney serves as vice president of Legislative Affairs at
Rolls-Royce North America as well as a director at Armed Services YMCA.
She received her B.A. in government from The College of William and
Mary and a J.D. from the Washington and Lee University School of Law.
Brainard is the vice president and director of the Global Economy
and Development program and was a senior fellow at the Brookings
Institution.
She previously was an associate professor of applied economics at
the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Sloan School of Management.
She received a degree from Wesleyan University and an M.B.A. and
Ph.D. in economics from Harvard University.
Campbell is the chief executive officer and co-founder of the Center
for a New American Security and the director of the Aspen Strategy
Group, the chairman of the editorial board of the Washington Quarterly,
and the founder and principal of StratAsia, a strategic advisory
company focused on Asia. He is also the assistant secretary of state
for East Asian and Pacific Affairs.
He received a B.A. from the University of California-San Diego, a
certificate in music and political philosophy from the University
of Erevan in Armenia, and a Ph.D. in international relations from
Oxford University.
There were four sales in Hawthorne in 2008, with a median sales price
of $682,000.
