NEW AMBASSADOR OF RF TO RA HANDS HIS CREDENTIALS

Newly appointed Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of
Russian to Armenia Viacheslav Kovalenko handed the copies of his
credentials to the Armenian MFA. "Mutual understanding, trust and
close cooperation between Armenia and Russia are good basis for
strengthening alliance and strategic partnership," RA Foreign Affairs
Minister Edward Nalbandyan noted.
RA MFA Press and Information Department reports, that Ambassador
Kovalenko expressed appreciation for the current level of
Armenian-Russian relations.
Russian diplomat promised to do his best to strengthen and develop
bilateral cooperation in various spheres.
To note, till taking this office, Mr. Kovalenko was the Ambassador
of Russia to Georgia. Last year after the five-day Russian-Georgian
war Georgia dissolved diplomatic relations with Russia and Kovalenko
left Tbilisi.
