HEAD OF UAE NATIONAL COUNCIL INTERESTED IN DEVELOPMENT OF CLOSE RELATIONS WITH ARMENIA

Abd al-Aziz Abdallah al-Ghureyr, the Chairman of the UAE Federal
National Council (parliament), received Vahagn Melikian, the Ambassador
of Armenia to the United Arab Emirates.
As Noyan Tapan was informed by the RA Foreign Ministry, at the
meeting Ambassador Melikian conveyed RA NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamian's
address-invitation to al-Ghureyr.
The prospects of cooperation between the two countries' parliaments,
creation of interparliamentary deputy friendship groups, as well as
prospects of development of the bilateral relations were discussed
during the conversation.
At al-Ghureyr's request Ambassador Melikian presented the main
directions of Armenia's foreign policy and the regional policy.
The head of the UAE National Council mentioned that he is interested
in development of close relations with Armenia, and active steps
should be taken in this direction.
