The decision of the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals overturning the
ruling by which the descendents of the victims of the genocide can sue
the insurance companies is not only the defeat of the Armenian people
but also the people of the world, said the director of the Armenia
and Karabakh office of the Armenian Assembly of America Arpi Vardanyan.
It is early to tell the effect of this ruling on the international
recognition of the genocide but it will set back this process and
impact the prevention of genocides in the world.
Arpi Vardanyan says the Armenian Assembly of America has made an
inquiry with the Obama administration for clarification.
