Sergey Lavrov (Russia) and Bernard Kushner (France) and U.S. Deputy
Secretary of State James Steinberg met with Armenian and Azeri FMs
in Athens, Greece, on the margins of OSCE Foreign Ministers' Summit.
OSCE Foreign Ministers reminded conflicting parties of their
commitments under Minedorf Declaration (November 2008) and Helsinki
Final Act (December 2008). Noting the positive dynamics in conflict
settlement talks, they attached much significance to frequent meetings.
Russian, French and American officials reiterated their countries'
willingness to assist Armenian and Azeri Presidents in achieving final
coordination of principles. They find the principles key to settling
conflicts on regional level.
Armenian and Azeri Foreign Ministers reiterated their countries'
willingness to achieve mutual understanding based on the principles
enshrined in Helsinki Final Act (non-use of force, territorial
integrity, equal rights and freedom of nations).
