AZERBAIJAN IS LEADER ON CIS SPACE ON GDP AND INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION

Azerbaijan
The CIS Interstate Statistical Committee announced indicators of ten
months on GDP (gross domestic production) and industrial production.
In January-October, the highest indicator on gross domestic product
- 8,3 percent has been registered in Azerbaijan. Following comes
Uzbekistan (8 percent), Kyrgyzstan (3,2 percent) and Tajikistan
(2,9 percent).
For ten months, GDP in the CIS countries have decreased in comparison
with the similar period of last year for 9 percent.
In this area Armenia is "leading" with about 17,5 percent. During
the period under review, the GDP in Ukraine has decreased for 15,9
percent, in Russia - for 9,6 percent.
Azerbaijan is the only country on CIS space which achieved growth
in industrial production. So, in Jan-Oct, industrial production in
republic has increased in comparison with the similar period of 2008
by 7,4 percent.
During this period, industrial output in Moldova has decreased for
24,1 percent, in Kyrgyzstan - for 13,9 percent, in Russia - for
13,3 percent, in Armenia - for 11,4 percent, in Tajikistan - for 8,6
percent, in Belarus - for 4,5 percent, in Kazakhstan - for 0,2 percent.
