Pro-Armenian congressman to chair House subcommittee

Robert Wexler, chairman of the House of Representatives subcommittee
for Europe and the Turkey friendship group, and a member of the
congressional taskforce on Azerbaijan, will be succeeded in his
capacity by a pro-Armenian congressman.
According to Wexler's office, his successor is Bill Delahunt, who is
known for maintaining friendly ties with the Armenian diaspora.
The outgoing lawmaker is stepping down as congressman to head the
Center for Middle East Peace.
Delahunt is known as a supporter of Armenian initiatives and is one of
the backers of the congressional bill supporting claims on the alleged
World War I-era genocide of Armenians in Ottoman Turkey.*
