    ARMENIAN CHESS PLAYERS MOSTLY TAKE SECOND PLACES AT INTERNATIONAL TOURNAMENTS

    /PanARMENIAN.Net/ Grandmaster Melikset Khachiyan, which represents the
    United States, became the winner of US OPEN Tournament. The tournament
    has been held 45 times in Los Angeles. According uschess.org, this
    year US OPEN was attended by 200 chess players. Melikset Khachiyan
    scored 6 out of possible 8 points and became the winner. International
    master Andranik Matikozyan representing Armenia with the same result
    took the 2nd place.

    The city of Stillwater (Oklahoma, USA) hosted an international chess
    tournament attended by 32 players. FIDE Master Movses Movsisyan
    (USA), who collected 5.5 points out of possible 7, took the 2nd
    place. Movses Movsisyan is 1 point behind the tournament leader Conrad
    Holt (FIDE Master).

    12 chess players take part in the 76th Brazilian chess championship in
    the city of Americana, from December 2 to 12. After the 7th round the
    international master Grigor Sevak Mekhitarian scored 5.5 points and
    took the second place. He is behind Giovanni Veskovi by 0,5 points. 4
    rounds are still to be held before the end of the tournament.

    Grandmaster Sergey Kasparov (Belarus) in the Portuguese town of
    Figueira da Foz took 6th place among 46 participants of the open
    chess tournament. He earned 6 points. The winner of the tournament
    was Anton Kovalyov (Argentina) with 7 points.
