ARMENIA-UAE COOPERATION EXPANDS, COVERING NEW SPHERES

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 8, NOYAN TAPAN. Receiving UAE Minister of State
for Foreign Affairs Dr. Anwar Gargash on December 7, Armenian Prime
Minister Tigran Sargsyan considered it important to strengthen and
deepen the relations with the United Arab Emirates. According to him,
there have already been tangible results in mining industry and real
estate sector.
Noting that the cooperation of the two countries is expanding, covering
new spheres, the prime minister expressed satisfaction with the UAE's
willingness to co-finance rehabilitation of the Arpa-Sevan tunnel and
spoke about the possible investment projects in such sectors of the
economy as agriculture, gem and jewelry sector, chemical industry,
infrastructure, power engineering, etc.
Stating that the relations between Armenia and the UAE are dynamically
developing, A. Gargash spoke about the efforts to make the bilateral
trade and economic links continuous. He underlined the importance
of the idea of setting up an intergovernmental commission, whose
implementation will enable to coordinate the agreements reached and
to realize projects of mutual interest.
The RA Government Information and PR Department reported that the
sides also exchanged ideas about the development of relations with
regional countries. At the guest's request, T. Sargsyan presented
the latest developments related to Armenia-Turkey dialog.
