2009 Accomplishments:
· The Second Biennial Paul Screenwriting Award, given to Eric Nazarian
for his script "Music for Strangers," with Honorary Jury Atom Egoyan,
Michael Peretzian and Steven P. Wegner
· The opening of ADAA's new headquarters at Sunset Gower Studios, Los
Angeles
· The 2nd Annual Armenian Film Series, sold-out, at Museum of Fine
Arts, Boston
· Assisted several theaters around the world to present plays by
William Saroyan and other Armenian playwrights
· Provided networking events for Armenian film and theater
professionals
· Added new resources to the ADAA website, continuing as the premier
Armenian performing arts website in the world
2010 Goals:
· The Second Biennial William Saroyan Prize for Playwriting, in
partnership with the William Saroyan Foundation. Submission Deadline
Feb. 15, 2010, with Prize announced Fall 2010
· 4th Annual Los Angeles Playreading Series, Fall 2010
· 3rd Annual Armenian Film Festival, Boston, Spring 2010
· Support of new productions of works by Armenian writers and
filmmakers
· Strengthen operations at ADAA Los Angeles headquarters
· Continue assisting with workshops for young filmmakers in Armenia
· Shipment of more camera equipment to Armenia
· 4th Annual Armenian Star Award to be presented in the Fall, honoring
a top Armenian professional in the field of the performing arts
