AZERBAIJANI COMMUNITY IN UAE SENDS LETTER OF PROTEST TO EURONEWS

Azerbaijan's community in the United Arab Emirates has sent a letter
of protest to Euronews.
The letter reads: "After viewing the video report "Winds of change in
Nagorno-Karabakh," the Azerbaijan community would like to express our
protest and disagreement with the false content that was presented
by your journalists.
Euronews is a widespread channel that is viewed worldwide therefore you
cannot falsify your duty and misinform the many people who view the
information you present and accept it as truthful and factual. The
facts presented in the video report were however, modified and
untruthful in many parts.
An example of the false information is the statement that revealed
that 95% of inhabitants of Nogorno Karabakh are of Armenian
nationality. This does not match with the actual statistics of
research, proving to be incorrect information known to the viewers
who watched this report.
It is also displayed in a biased way, using the Armenian voice in
order to reveal events that are biased for both countries that are
undergoing the dispute in Karabakh.
Using only the Armenian people to tell this story is journalistically
unethical and biased. Karabakh is the historical land of Azerbaijan.
The Armenians annually celebrate their arrival to Karabakh by placing
a monument to state their presence.
Another fact that displays the falsity and unprofessionalism of the
information in the report is the statement that declared that Karabakh
is not an occupied land.
The fact about the occupation of Karabakh by Armenians has been
acknowledged by governments of various countries as well as the four
resolutions made by the United Nations. Naming the occupant of a land
that is not originally their own, a president of that named land,
is factual crime. Karabakh is not a country of its own and naming a
president for it is incorrect.
In addition, once again the religious question is brought up in this
report, where Karabakh is named the "Christian" land. Azerbaijan is a
Muslim country and the majority of their populations are followers of
Islam. Karabakh, being a land that originally belongs to Azerbaijan,
cannot be named Christian.
We demand changes to be made to this video report to correct all the
errors made and all the false information being spread amongst the
population of the world who have received distorted facts about the
issue. If this request is not followed in the near future, Euronews
will have to answer for their insult towards the nation of Azerbaijan
in International Court.
We are awaiting your reply with the date of the updated video report
about the roots and the true history of the Karabakh conflict.
Hope above is very clear."
