FIRST POLITICAL CONSULTATIONS BETWEEN RA AND UAE FOREIGN MINISTRIES HELD

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 25, NOYAN TAPAN. The first political consultations
between the RA and United Arab Emirates (UAE) Foreign Ministries were
held between December 24 to 25 at the RA Foreign Ministry.
RA Deputy Foreign Minister Arman Kirakosian headed Armenia's
delegation, UAE's First Deputy Foreign Minister Tariq Al-Haidan
UAE's delegation.
The consultations were held by two stages: first, political,
regional and international problems and second, issues of bilateral
trade-economic and educational-cultural cooperation.
Bilateral political relations between RA and UAE were touched upon at
the political consultations. The Armenian side highly evaluated them
and expressed willingness to further develop and expand them. The UAE
side also gave the same estimation. The necessity of mutual visits and
meetings of the two countries' high-ranking officials was mentioned.
Issues regarding settlement of regional problems were touched upon.
After exchanging opinions of Near Eastern problems the interlocutors
attached importance to the necessity of problem's peaceful settlement.
UAE's Deputy Foreign Minister briefly presented the views of his
country and Arab world on problem's settlement.
Interested discussions on bilateral economic relations, including on
agricultural, scientific-technical and educational-cultural cooperation
took place at the second stage of consultations with participation
of representatives of proper RA departments.
According to the RA Foreign Ministry Press and Information Department,
UAE's Foreign Ministry's delegation met with RA Deputy Prime Minister,
Territorial Administration Minister Armen Gevorgian and RA Minister
of Economy Nerses Yeritsian.
RA Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian also received UAE's delegation
on December 25.
