THE ORDER TO ATTACK OPPOSITION YOUNG ACTIVISTS WAS GIVEN BY RPA MP RUBEN SADOYAN, SAYS LEVON ZURABYAN

Armenian National Congress representatives have convened a press
conference today giving details on the incidents on Vardanants street
where ANC young-wing activists had been attacked. Levon Zurabyan,
the ANC coordinator, said the public had greeted their campaign
materials with great enthousiasm and was ready to actively participate
in the election.
"This is what that is not included in authuritis' scenario and all
the election-forging and violation resources of the Republican Party
of Armenia have been mobilized to avert such a succesful campaign and
to ensure that [Artashes] Geghamyans' party [National Unity Party]
representative wins. All Republican staff is working for him and it is
regarded the only way authoritis can use to prevent Nicole Pashinyan's
win. Serzh Sargsyan has ordered Gagik Beglaryan [mayor of Yerevan]
to carry out the task; the whole campaign has been organized by Gagik
Beglaryan," Zurabyan has reportedley said.
"In fact seeing that they are losing the campaign the authorities
started using their usual style yesterday, organizing attacks with
metal poles on our young activists which bandit-like or is typical
of bandit groups. We dispose reliable information that the attack has
been made due to the Republican MP Ruben Sadoyan's order and the attack
has been organized by Vahan Nadaryan the chief of the sub-headquarter
serving to the 10/19 and 10/20 precinct stations. All the staff that
conducts the activities of that Republican sub-headquarter have taken
part in the attack," said Zurabyan.
He also informed that there are some casualties because of the attack:
Vahagn Gevorgyan has had an injury on his head, caused by a metal pole,
and has recently been discharged from hospital. Sergey Gasparyan
has been beaten on the head by a blunt tool and is experiencing a
concussion of the brain, Tevos Matevosyan has been beaten on his
low jaw with open wounds, while Sargis Gevorgyan, Sahak Muradyan and
Vladimir Karapetyan have been beaten on the face.
