CSTO MINISTERS MEETING IN MOSCOW TODAY

RBC, 04.02.2009, Moscow 09:27:54.A meeting of the Council of Foreign
Ministers, Defense Ministers and Security Council Secretaries of the
Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member countries opened
in Moscow today. The extraordinary joint meeting's agenda includes,
among other things, matters of enhancing the CSTO's potential in
ensuring collective security of the organization's member states.
The most important item on the agenda is to discuss a draft Collective
Security Council decision on creating rapid response collective
forces as part of the special assignment and emergency situations
military contingents for the upcoming extraordinary session of the
CSTO's Collective Security Council, Armenian Foreign Minister Eduard
Nalbaldian announced.
The meeting's participants are also expected to consider the
organization's budget for 2009, the time and place of holding the
Collective Security Council's session and a draft agenda for the
council's extraordinary session.
As reported earlier, CSTO members include Armenia, Belarus, Russia,
Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan.
