TURKISH COMPANY DENIES NEGOTIATING ARMORED VEHICLES SALE WITH ARMENIA

Nurol Makine Ve Senaye denied reports that the company is negotiating
a sale of armored vehicles to Armenia.
"Reports that we are negotiating arms sales with Armenia are
unfounded. We have not made such a statement," Nurol Makine Ve Senaye
Deputy Director Tanju Torun said in a telephone conversation from
Ankara on Feb. 5.
The Turkish Hurriyet newspaper quoted Tanju Torun as saying on Feb. 4
that Nurol Makine Ve Senaye is negotiating an armored vehicles sale
to Armenia.
Torun said he knows nothing about the reports and believes his words
were misinterpreted. The company is not engaged in producing and
selling weapons, he said.
