DO DETAINEES CARRY OUT POLITICAL ORDER?

"If the Republic Party (HHK) Leader Galust Sahakyan wished, he could
gather 44 signatures within five minutes to convene an extraordinary
session with the participation of the Prosecutor General and three
detained MPs," Galust Sahakyan said in reply to A1+.
Asked why he hadn't done it, the HHK leader said: "Drive for signatures
will not help solve the issue. We shouldn't depict everything in grey
colours and worsen the detainees' state. Whenever we raise an issue
we should realise that the political scene is unique and the issue
should mature."
Galust Sahakyan says the political domain, more precisely the National
Assembly, is not prepared to listen to their detained colleagues.
The OYK has abstained from the drive as they don't want to be involved
in the at-trial procedure.
"The drive for signatures will hardly change the situation as it
is upon the court to acquit or imprison the MPs," said OYK member
Heghine Bisharyan.
I voted against Hakob Hakbyan's detention but he said offensive
expressions in address to his colleagues. I don't want to cite his
words. Let's wait until the court passes a verdict."
ARD Dashnaktustyun also thinks that the case against the seven
opposition activists "should be left in peace." If a trial is under
way, the restraint cannot be reviewed. The drive for signatures was
unlawful. Even if all factions gave their signatures the detainees
couldn't be released until the trial ended, said ARFD member
Hrayr Karapetyan. He blamed the detainees for delaying the court
trial. "Probably they execute a political order and try to delay the
trial as long as they can"
