ARMROSGASPROM APPLIES FOR RAISING GAS PRICE FOR CONSUMERS FROM CURRENT 84,000 TO 99,000 DRAMS

YEREVAN, February 11. /ARKA/. ArmRosgasprom company submitted an
application to the Public Services Regulatory Commission for review
of the current price for gas for the consumers in the country.
The price suggested for consumers of up to 10,000 cubic meters per
month is 99,000 Drams per 1,000 cubic meters including VAT against
the current 84,000 Drams, the Press Service of ArmRosgasprom closed
joint stock company reported.
The application contains also a suggestion to review the way of
calculation of the monthly prices for consumers using a monthly of
10,000 cubic meters of gas or more , as well as the prices for gas
supply system operation service (ArmRosgasprom CJSC), gas distribution
(ArmRosgasprom CJSC), transportation of natural gas (Transgas LLC,
ArmRosgasprom CJSC).
The application suggests increasing the price for gas supply system
operation service from the current 18,334Drams for every 1,000 cubic
meters (including VAT) to 32,181Drams.
The price suggested by ArmRosgasprom for distribution is
11,559.938Drams (including VAT) per every 1,000 cubic meters against
the current 8,057.945Drams (including VAT).
The price suggested for transportation of every 1,000 cubic meters
is 5,430.898Drams (including VAT) against the current 4,638.841Drams
(including VAT).
According to the agreement on Russian gas supply to Armenia, as from
0AApril 1 2009 the gas price is to be 154 USD per 1,000 cubic meters
(including VAT) against the current 110 USD (including VAT). Effective
from April 1 2010 the price for gas is to constitute 200 U.S. dollars
for 1,000 cubic meters (including VAT) and 169.5 U.S. dollars (without
VAT). The agreement is signed on mutually advantageous terms for the
period from 2009 to 2015.
Under the agreement, if changes occur on the Russian market, Armenia
is to also turn to market prices in 2011 in case of changes on the
Russian market.
"ArmRosgasprom" holds the monopoly for supply and distribution of
the Russian natural gas on the domestic market in Armenia. The gas
is supplied to Armenia via Georgia.
The company was founded in 1997. "Gasprom" open joint stock company
holds 75.55% of the company's stock. The share of the Armenian
Government is 20% and that of "Itera" 4.44%. (1$=308.41Drams).
