Sabir Rustamkhanly, co-chair of the World Azerbaijanis Congress,
is planning to raise the issue of opening the Azerbaijani embassy to
Australia in the state structures, he said at a conference by results
of the visit to Australia.
According to him, there is a great many of Azerbaijani citizens in
Australia therefore it is necessary to open this embassy to strengthen
ties between the countries.
"Currently Australia has the Turkish embassy. At the meeting with
officials of Australia, we were told that it would have been expedient
for Azerbaijan to open its embassy in this country.
Armenian representatives also work actively in Australia, therefore,
it is necessary to hold propaganda in this country and present true
facts about Azerbaijan and the Karabakh conflict", noted Rustamkhanly.
Notably, in the framework of the visit of the co-chairs to Australia
the representative office of the World Azerbaijanis Congress opened
in this country.
