Azeri Day.az web site will be available, but as it is said, it won't
be the same. It seems that the authorities of Baku decided to punish
one of the famous local media trying to veil it with a business deal.
The former chief editor of the web site Elnour Baimov told to "Azeri
press" agency that Day.az has been purchased. The editor said that
he was not informed of the details of the contract, as the founder
of the publication ran the business and he was not going to work with
the new owner.
It is important to remind that the web site was blocked in the evening
of 18 February with a notice that the site was not available because
of "technical" problems. Later, it was written in the information
portal that "Day.az project stops its activities". Yesterday it was
said that the portal would be available on 25 February.
Earlier Panorama.am wrote that the web site has been blocked because of
some publications that the local authorities did not like. According to
the Russian media, "blocking the web site was connected with serious
political mistakes that this information resource made."
