APOLOGIZING TO ARMENIANS CAMPAIGN WILL IMPACT NEGATIVELY ON ONGOING
DISCUSSION WITH ARMENIA
Ankara, January 2 (AzerTAc). Apologizing to Armenians campaign will
have a negative impact on ongoing discussion with Armenia, Turkish
President Abdullah Gul said in an interview to journalists.
Gul said his visit to Armenia to watch a football match can be
compared with rapprochement between USA and China because
Washington-Beijing relationship began to normalize after the sport
game.
Turkish President said during his Yerevan visit he discussed
Turkey-Armenia relations, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and Georgia
issue. Gul noted if security is restored in the region, economic
cooperation and welfare can be achieved as well.
When asked about discussions with Armenia, Gul said discussions are
underway.
