AIRPLANE OF ARMAVIA COMPANY IN THE TURBULENT ZONE IN THE AIR SPACE OF GEORGIA

The airplane of Armavia air company, implementing Sochi-Yerevan flight,
found itself in the turbulent zone in the air space of Georgia, 50-70
km far from Tbilisi, on 11 January, at 1:00 PM local time because of
the oncoming aircraft A-380 implementing Dubai-New-York flight.
As press-service of Armavia told ArmInfo, the distance between the
aircrafts in the air was about 1000 feet (about 300 meters) which meets
all international norms. But the aircraft of Armavia finding itself
in the turbulent zone was tilted left sharply. Fortunately, thanks to
professionalism of the Armavia pilots the aircraft landed successfully.
Irrespective of the fact the distance between the oncoming aircrafts
was meeting international standards Armavia has already started
investigation of the incident the results of which will be directed
to the relevant bodies.
