YEREVAN, JANUARY 19, NOYAN TAPAN. Bargavach Hayastan (Prosperous
Armenia) party leader Gagik Tsarukian's press office has been created
for the purpose of presenting his activity in various spheres. The
press office will work by the principle of complementarianism with the
secretariate of the parliamentary faction of the same name. Khachik
Galstian assuming the post of G. Tsarukian's Spokesperson reported
during the January 19 interview to journalists. He will also
simultaneously hold the post of BH leader's assistant at NA.

He said that party's congress will be held on February 12, during
which journalists will receive answers to their questions. As to the
Nagorno Karabakh settlement, K. Galstian assured that BH considers
inadmissible any solution to the problem, by which NKR will make
part of Azerbaijan. "It is the problem of all Armenians, and we are
hopeful that we will indeed have a final fair solution to this issue
    favorable for Armenia," he said.

As to the rumors on BH's passing over to the opposition sphere in
the future, it was mentioned that such suppositions are perhaps
conditioned by the circumstance that the faction voted against
the package of tax amendments envisaging increase of tax burden of
small and medium-sized business submitted by the government at the
NA special sitting in late December. According to K. Galstian, that
single case cannot be a basis for such a supposition, and the party
will continue its activity in the coalition government in line with its
program principles. In connection with the rumors on G. Tsarukian's
intention to assume Prime Minister's post it was mentioned that if
he had such a willingness he would state it personally.
