AZERBAIJANI SOLDIER ACCUSED OF HIGH TREASON SENTENCED TO 11-YEAR IMPRISONMENT

Baku. Ramil Mammadli-APA. The trial on the case of Azerbaijani soldier
Vusal Heybatov, who was accused of high treason, concluded in the
Military Court of Grave Crimes, APA reports.
The court said that Heybatov faced charges under Article 274
(high treason) of the Criminal Code and was sentenced to 11-year
imprisonment.
Vusal was captured by Armenian servicemen on April 11, 2008 and was
released on May 3. The investigation found out that Humbatov faced
charges under Article 274 and was arrested.
Vusal, 20, is a resident of Khilmilli village of Gobustan Region.
