ArmInfo. Starting January 1 2009 Ara Grigoryan has been appointed
Director General of Yerevan Brandy Company. A. Grigoryan joined
Pernod Ricard Ukraine and Pernod Ricard Minsk in Jan 2001 as Executive
Officer. Pernod Ricard Eastern Europe Executive Officer Eric Labord
said at a press conference Thursday.
He said Ara Grigoryan will combine the positions of YBC Director
General and Pernod Ricard Minsk Executive Officer. E. Labord
characterized the new director general of YBC as a literate manager
who much contributed to promotion of Ararat brand in the Ukraine
and Belarus. A. Grigoryan was born in 1963 in Yerevan. He graduated
from Yerevan Agricultural Institute. He joined Yerevan brandy plant
in 1989 as executive for marketing and sales. Speaking at a press
conference, Ara Grigoryan predicted no global staff policy changes. He
highly appreciated the existing staff and called it one of the best
achievements of the company. He joked that Pernod Ricard Armenia will
speak in Armenian.
Cedric Retailleau was appointed YBC Executive Officer on July 1 2007.
Starting January 1 2009 he has been appointed Pernod Ricard Venezuela
Executive Officer. The office in Venezuela is of strategic importance
for sales of Ararat brand in the American continent. In this context,
the appointment can be considered as advancement, E. Labord said.
YBC was privatized in May 1998 by the French Pernod Ricard Group for
$30 million.
