GEORGIA RESTORES RUSSIAN GAS FLOWS TO ARMENIA: ARMROSGASPROM

    ARKA
    Jan 26, 2009

YEREVAN, January 26. /ARKA/. Russian gas supplies to Armenia through
Georgia were restored on Monday, the press service of Armenia's gas
    monopoly ArmRosGasProm reports.

The gas flow to Armenia was stopped on Sunday, 02:00 a.m. due to
sharp decline of the temperature in Gveleti gas measuring station,
Georgia's Gas and Transport Company said.

The Georgian specialists restored the station at 16:20 p.m.

The temporary suspension of the Russian gas flows to Armenia did not
affect the country's gas consumption market, ArmRosGasProm says.

Monopolist in Armenia's gas supply market, ArmRosGasProm CJSC was
established in 1997. Gazprom OJCS and the RA Ministry of Energy
used to hold 45% of the company's shares each, with Itera Oil and
Gas Company owning 10% of ArmRosGasProm. After implementing two
of the three planned stages of its investment program (and buying
extra shares of ArmRosGasProm in 2006 and 2008) Gazprom became
75.55% shareholder of the company, with Itera now holding 4.44%
    of ArmRosGasProm's shares.
