Moscow - A Russian jury has found three policemen guilty of murder for
burning a suspect to death during an interrogation, the Gazeta
newspaper reported Tuesday. Reporting on the trial in the Volga River
city of Saratov, the paper said the jury accepted the evidence from
the October 2008 incident in which the policemen, who were drunk at
the time, had first beaten an Armenian suspected of theft and then
poured petrol over him and set him ablaze. They buried his body in a
forest.
The three policemen face possible life sentences after the verdict.
