ARMENIAN GOVERNMENT APPROVES PROGRAM OF MEASURES ON ARMENIA'S PARTICIPATION IN EXPO 2010 SHANGHAI CHINA

YEREVAN, JULY 2, NOYAN TAPAN. At the July 2 sitting, the Armenian
government approved the program of measures on Armenia's participation
in Expo 2010 Shanghai China to be held in Shanghai in May-October,
2010. Its theme will be "Better City, Better Life". RA Minister of
Economy Nerses Yeritsian announced that the total cost of the program
is 560 million drams, which includes expenses on the installation,
furnishing and servicing of the Armenian pavilion and expenses on the
maintenance staff. Besides, the Chinese government will allocate 650
thousand dollars for technical assistance.
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan did not rule out that they will have
to increase the expenses as during the exhibition, it is planned to
mark Armenia's Independence Day on September 21 and present "Spartak"
ballet. The prime minister instructed the RA Ministry of Culture to
develop the cultural program of Armenia's National Day and present
it to the Chinese side.
T. Sargsyan underlined the necessity of involving the Ministry of
Diaspora in the work on preparation for and participation in the
exhibition.
