HOVE (THE WIND), STARRING OLYMPIA DUKAKIS, TO SCREEN AT THE LA SHORTS
FILM FESTIVAL

Hove (The Wind), will screen at the 2009 LA Shorts Film Festival with
performances by Oscar-winning actress Olympia Dukakis (Moonstruck,
Away from Her) as Zara and Armenian-American actress Shirleyann
Kaladjian (A Dirty Shame) as Nina.
West Hollywood, July 23, 2009-As a part of this year's LA Shorts Film
Festival, the newest short film from Writer/Director Alex Webb, Hove
(The Wind) will screen in-competition. Webb's previous work has
screened at The Houston International Film Festival, Clermont-Ferrand,
and has won him a Panavision New Filmmaker Award.
"Hove (The Wind)" is a mystery that tells the story of two modern
Armenian women whose lives are shaken by an unexpected encounter with
the past, and the unresolved legacy of the Armenian Genocide. Olympia
Dukakis comments, ` Hove (The Wind) doesn't ask for sympathy. What it
does do is give you the opportunity to feel deeply what the Genocide
means in these people's lives-in all our lives!'
Milton Kam served as Director of Photography. He is best known for his
Spirit Award nominated cinematography on Vanaja which won the Silver
Bear at Berlinale. He has also won the Kodak Vision Award for the
Creative Use of Cinematography.
