    AZERI PRESIDENT'S STATEMENTS SOUND POSITIVE?

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Azeri President's statements contain positive
hints, OSCE MG Co-Chair Matthew Bryza announced in Yerevan. American
diplomat finds Aliyev's statement on "NKR people's security" a
    positive phenomenon.

With regard to Armenian-Turkish process' potential impact on Karabakh
peace talks, Mr. Bryza stressed that two processes were parallel and
should be viewed different angles. "Of course, the speedy course of
one of the processes will influence the other," Bryza said.

In the meantime, he refuted Azeri media reports on his being appointed
as Ambassador in Azerbaijan. "I have no information. President Obama
has not proposed my candidacy to Senate that's why I'll remain as
Co-Chair of OSCE MG and Assistant to US Secretary of State," the
    diplomat stressed.

In their turn, Co-Chairs Bernard Fassier and Yuri Merzlyakov agreed
that Azeri President had mitigated his rhetoric. "For many years,
we were trying to convince President Aliyev to refrain from bellicose
statements and he seems to have obeyed us," Bernard Fassier noted.

In an interview for "Russia" TV Channel, Azeri Presdient Ilham Aliyev
stressed the importance of "guaranteeing NKR population's security".
