    ARMENIAN AND HUNGARIAN FOREIGN AFFAIR MINISTERS INDICATED WAYS OF DEVELOPING THE BILATERAL COOPERATION

    YEREVAN, JULY 10, ARMENPRESS: Armenian Foreign Affairs Minister Edward
    Nalbandyan paid on July 9 a short-term visit to Budapest. The press
    service of the Foreign Affairs Ministry told Armenpress that as soon
    as Edward Nalbandyan arrived in the capital of Hungary, he met with
    his counterpart Peter Balash.

    The agenda of the meeting of Armenian and Hungarian Ministers for
    Foreign Affairs included a wide circle of issues on the preparation
    works of the Armenian President's official visit to Hungary in
    November, the bilateral cooperation, Armenia-European Union relations,
    regional and international issues.

    Highly assessing the recent tendencies of development of
    Armenian-Hungarian relations, Ministers E. Nalbandyan and P. Balash
    indicated the necessity of activation of high level mutual visits and
    political dialogue as a guarantee of development of a multilateral
    cooperation.

    The interlocutors referred to the ways of deepening the
    trade-economical interaction. In this context the Armenian Minister
    for Foreign Affairs attached importance to the formation of a relevant
    legal-agreement field and the conduction of business forums. The
    Ministers agreed to activate the preparation of the contracts of
    economic sphere to be signed during the President's his visit to
    Hungary.

    During the negotiations different directions of Armenia-European
    Union cooperation, as well as the steps to be undertaken towards
    activating the bilateral cooperation within the frames of the European
    neighborhood policy and the Eastern Partnership project have been in
    details discussed.

    The head of the Armenian Foreign Political Department presented the
    latest developments in the Karabakh issue negotiation to the Hungarian
    Foreign Affairs Minster.

    On E. Nalbandyan's request P. Balash presented the processes running
    in the European Union after the elections of the European Parliament,
    as well as the process of the formation of the European Commission.

    The Armenian and Hungarian Ministers of Foreign Affairs also referred
    to the process of Karabakh conflict regulation.

    The meeting of Foreign Ministers was followed by a joint press
    conference, then E. Nalbandyan had an interview with the Hungarian
    TV. In Budapest E. Nalbandian accompanied with the representatives
    of Hungarian-Armenian community, put flowers on the memorial of the
    victims of Armenian Genocide.

    The same day the Armenian Minister for Foreign Affairs left for
    Bucharest.
