RA MINISTER OF DIASPORA ORGANIZES RECEPTION FOR PARTICIPANTS OF GOLDEN APRICOT FILM FESTIVAL

    Noyan Tapan
    July 16, 2009

YEREVAN, JULY 16, NOYAN TAPAN - ARMENIANS TODAY. Numerous Diasporan
Armenian artists from different countries of the world this year as
well participate and has represented films of different genres at
the Golden Apricot Yerevan International 6th Film Festival. The RA
Minister of Diaspora organized on that occasion a reception in honour
    of the film festival participants.

According to the Press and Public Relations Department of the RA
Ministry of Diaspora, the heads of the Yerevan Beer Factory agreed
with pleasure to carry out the reception. Here, in a free and easy
conditions, the film festival organizers, film producers, directors
and cinematographers expressed their viewpoints and professional
opinions about films which have already been shown. Canadian Armenian
actress Arsinee Khanjian, American Armenian actor Eric Bogosian,
American Armenian director Eric Nazarian, German Armenian director
Norik Keshishian, Georgian famous director Nana Djordjadze, Russian
famous film critic Kirill Razlogov, other participants and guests
of the festival almost unanimously expressed an opinion that Golden
Apricot year by year becomes more representative and widens borders of
its authority. More and more young artists strive for representing
their films to the society through Golden Apricot, at the same
time expecting to get any prize of the already authoritative film
festival. The Diasporan Armenian Director's Best Film prize defined
by the RA Ministry of Diaspora found its honourary place among the
prizes of the 6th film festival.

RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobian warmly greeted the film
festival organizers, participants, jury members, all the guests of the
film festival, attached importance in her speech to artist's high goal
of arising global problems in the language of art and giving a reason
for thinking to spectators of many millions, assisting formation of
a strong connection between the world-spread Armenians and Homeland
    through the art of cinematography.

The Minister expressed a hope that the special prize defined by the
Ministry of Diaspora will find its prize winner at the time when it
will be possible to give a complete estimaion of a given film from
    both ideological and artistic viewpoint.
