According to statistics of the International Organization for
Migration, there are more than 7 million Armenians living outside
of Armenia.
These are the statistics in 2003, which means that this number has
increased by 7,000 compared to 1988.
The recent report states that nearly 800,000 Armenians left Armenia
in the 1990s.
Nearly 75% of Armenian migrants of the past decade migrated from
former Soviet republics, primarily Russia.
Fifteen percent moved to European countries, while 10 percent emigrated
to the United States.
