ARMENIAN PREMIER: COMPANIES FROM EUROPE, THE USA AND RUSSIA WANT TO TAKE PART IN CONSTRUCTION OF THE NEW NUCLEAR UNIT IN ARMENIA

ArmInfo. Companies from Europe, the USA and Russia want to take part
in construction of the new nuclear unit in Armenia, Armenian Prime
Minister Tigran Sarkisyan said when giving lecture "Tax and budgetary
and monetary policy in Armenia before the crisis and today" within the
frames of lectures for young specialists "Crisis as an opportunity".
He also added that construction of the new nuclear power unit consists
of several different stages. He also recalled that earlier Armenia's
partner-countries were against functioning of the nuclear power plant
in the republic. Later along with the economical growth of Armenia,
stabilization of the political situation and poverty level reduction
their attitude changed. And IAEA, European Union and the USA started
showing technical and financial aid to raise safety and possibility
of the nuclear power plant exploitation.
To note, construction of the new power unit at nuclear power plant
along with restoration of the Spitak earthquake zone and construction
of infrastructures, construction of Iran-Armenia railway are priorities
of the incumbent authorities. President Serzh Sargsyan said about
the necessity of unit construction.
