Turkish, US diplomats discuss Armenia talks
U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton is praising Turkey for
its talks to normalize relations with Armenia.
She spoke Thursday after Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu
briefed her on progress.
Davutoglu was in Washington this week as Turkey took over the United
Nations Security Council rotating presidency. He was also discussing
other sticky foreign policy questions in his region, including Middle
East peace talks and stabilizing Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Clinton said the United States was supportive of the Turkish-Armenian
talks but added that it was up to the two sides "to realize the great
opportunity this poses."
