/PanARMENIAN.Net/ The idea of creating CSTO Rapid Reaction Forces
(RRF) is a key issue, therefore, it is necessary to legalize the
initiative. RF President Dmitry Medvedev said during a meeting with
    CSTO Secretary General Nickolay Borduzha.

"Certain time has passed since CSTO held its extraordinary session in
which parties adopted decision on creating rapid reaction forces. As
we see today, the idea is of key importance in modern world in view
of continuing threats, such as terrorism, drug trafficking etc.,"
    Dmitry Medvedev emphasized.

RF President stressed the importance of preparing documents for
legalizing RRF activities. Nickolay Borduzha told President Medvedev
that the document package was prepared prior to the regular CSTO
Summit due on June 14. The package includes agreement on creating
rapid reaction forces, appendixes, rules of conduct and documents
determining the structure of RRF military formations ,as well as a
    register of forces.

As noted by Mr. Borduzha, significant work has been carried out
since the CSTO extraordinary session. 'All the documents are agreed
upon and prepared on a high level,' CSTO Secretary General said. "We
studied the international experience of forming rapid reaction forces
and conducted over 30 sessions with the participation of experts,
including high level professionals," Vesti.ru reports.

CSTO member states are Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan,
Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. The agreement on forming rapid
reaction forces was signed in Moscow on February 4, 2009.
